Frets On Fire

Posted on Sunday 18 March 2007

I was referred to a new game by Milkman on MSN, ’tis an … interesting game. Basically it’s a clone of Guitar Hero for the Playstation 2, and it’s somewhat addictive. As you may have already guessed, it’s called Frets On Fire. It doesn’t take a beast of a computer to run it, a graphics card might help but is not essential.

Here are a couple of shots of the song choosing screen, and if you click them, you can download two videos to go with the songs displayed.

Elastica - Connection
27.5 MB

Elecman - Megaman
24.0 MB

The videos are encoded with x264, so if you don’t have the codec, you can’t play them. If that turns out to be the case then I recommend the CCCP, which can play just about anything.

Also, apologies for the somewhat crappy sound quality, but FRAPS just sucks at recording sound, and then on top of that it’s only recorded in 56 Kbps MP3 because I can’t figure out how to go higher than that in Virtual Dub.
