HDD Killers

NFS:MW is a pretty cool game. Yesterday I completed it, I’m the most wanted driver in Rockport now. Just thought I’d share that with you all. Also, I’ve been experimenting a little with a cool program called FRAPS. It displays a framerate counter in-game and it also lets you record video (only up to 30seconds at a time with the free version). So I used it to capture a few video clips from the game that I thought I’d share.

I’m probably breaking about a hundred million copywrite laws right now, so if and when I get contacted with a date that I need to be in court, I’ll take the vids down. But it’s good publicity for EA, so here’s hopin’ I don’t get sued.

All but one of the vid’s were encoded with the DivX 6.1 codec, if you don’t already have it, you can download the DivX play bundle here. I’m not entirely sure why but Dr. DivX only seems to output video that’s 784×592 or 816×608, this is unfortunate as the original video is 800×600 (quarter of my screen resolution), so the image is always stretched or compressed and some picture quality is lost. However I don’t fancy uploading all of the uncompressed video’s as they’re over 1GB in size.

Also, I removed the sound from some of the vid’s, FRAPS doesn’t seem to be good with sound as it’s a bit crackly, especially when I have music playing in the background.
