The post before me though has it wrong when saying
“Question 51 is flawed, particularily when you consider the ‘all boons are moons’ question, the test contradicts itself.”
First, I left the spelling mistake, whatever.
Second, if you looked at the questions, you’d know you were wrong.
Anyways, I may have got 168, but it probably won’t get that much higher because I’m 19.
If I’m not mistaken, your peak intelligence is when you are 20, but I could be wrong there.

Wow. I didn’t know there would be a blog about this question, but it sure explained it for me after the test. I kind of did it on a spring after my grave shift before bed and I guessed B was the answer since the rest went in a rightward direction. Other than the flowers one I whipped through that pretty fast and got a 168, which is probably wrong in real life, but I will go to bed happy.

Question 51 is flawed, particularily when you consider the ‘all boons are moons’ question, the test contradicts itself.

The questions are laughably easy, as has been stated before, these tests only prove your ability to take them, and little else.

I think some people get how IQ test are scored and others do not.

I’m just responding because I see alot of comments on various IQ sites such as I got this high number and i’m only say 12 years old.

Your IQ score is not an absolute score. Its a relative score and is based on your age. So its telling you how intellectual you are for your age. Its not saying that if you are 6 and you get a score of 130 and a 40 year old gets a score of 110, that you are more intelligent than the 40 year old because you got a higher score. Your score of 140 is comparing how many answers you got correct compared to others your age group. Thus if the average 6 year old gets 20 questions wrong a score of 100(average/normal IQ) for a six year old means 20 questions wrong. Where as if the average 40 year old gets only 12 questions wrong a score of 100 for a 40 year old would mean getting only about 12 questions wrong.
Thus the 10 year old for example could get 13 questions wrong and the 40 year old could only get 7 questions wrong and the 10 year old have a higher IQ than the 40 year old. Why is that you say, it is because the 10 year old’s score is only comparing him to others his age, not an absolute score. What it would mean is that he/she is very smart for a 10 year old.
Here is a last analogy if you still dont get it. Imagine there is a SQ test, testing your speed quotient (how fast you are) and there is a cockroach that is super super fast. The cockroach scores 150 on the SQ test. Than there is this slow car that scores 60 on the SQ test. Even though the cockroach has a higher score than the car, the car is still faster than the cockroach. Why you ask, well because the test is only comparing the cockroach aganist other cockroaches and the car aganist other cars. The same with an IQ test, its comparing you aganist others your age. (relative not absolute)

Regarding question 51: I see your point about squares, and that’s the right train of thought. A more thoroughly successful question might result if Laps, etc., were replaced by, say, places of origin:

If all Miamians are Floridians, all Floridians are Americans, and all Americans are North Americans, then which of the following is not true?

A. All Miamians are Americans
B. All Americans are Miamians
C. All Miamians are North Americans
D. All Floridians are North Americans

Thus you see why B is the correct answer, the way the question is posed, because not all Americans are Miamians. Sometimes such questions should have things people know rather than “widgets.”

By the way, I scored 152 and did not go for the in-depth analysis.
